SUNRISE IS BACK!

Sunrise Senior Living Open Mic
Need rotating volunteers to host and provide PA each month!!! John Lynch will coordinate this month so message him your interest in lending some help and performing.

Since April 2011, BGG has been having this event on the 2nd Thursday of each month. This is a fun, heart warming, Acoustic & Electric, community service event.

Join the players and put some smiles on those Seniors' faces and lend some spring to their steps with your generous talents.

Miriam Levinger is the new Activities & Volunteer Coordinator for Sunrise Senior Living in Pikesville, and she is delighted to have BGG play the Happy Hour at the Senior Center.

It's nice to get some of our Bluegrassers, Jazzers, and vintage (50's, 60's, 70's) rock & roll players, since we play to senior citizens; but these hep cats enjoy any and all positive music offered with sincere joy.

Happy Hour is from 6:30 - 8:00pm
This is a happy hour at a senior center, so they will be serving alcohol.
(free beer (limited) & soda for the players)

Some members, especially beginners, ask if there will be spots where multiple players might do some songs, where the beginners might be able to play along, but not lead or sing. Give it some thought to help folks join in....

Actually, we've been doing it this way where we all have played together on songs that we know. For instance, You Are My Sunshine is a real hit with the residents and its easy enough for all of the performers to play it together.

I was wondering, approximately how many songs does each performer typically play?

It's fluid. That will depend upon player sign-ups. Often at least three songs each singer/player with options to accompany each other too. If the list cycles again, more...
