Somewhere well beyond beginner...but looking for a duo partner(s) to practice songs with for eventual open mikeing - but I can't do that alone, not yet anyway. I know alot of Jim Croce songs, some Don Mclean and I'm a pretty quick study learning acoustic parts. Please let me know if interested - thanks.
I have a 1977 Ovation Balladeer and a 1978 in Sunburst that I bought because it looks just like Jim Croce's road guitar, except it's not amped. This is the video that made me buy it - Ii just sounds so crisp and sharp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLKhUnl_yhc I also have a few Seagulls which sound very nice to me.
Jim Croce's Ovation!
Jim Croce's songs were my first exposure to music as a kid - from my older brothers and sisters leaving his albums laying around etc...but I could have done alot worse than that! As I got a little older, Don Mclean's music inspired me to take up the guitar. Coming full circle in the last year or two I love learning and playing Croce's stuff nowadays. I don't have a Maury to play against, so I just fingerpick Jim's parts.
Hi everybody...live in Bel Air, but from South Philly. I Love to play acoustic but kinda tired of playing alone. I think I play ok (fingerpicking style), but no experience singing in front of people. I'm hoping this group can beat that out of me ;)
Thanks Nick for a great time, and the pizza and soft drinks ;)
