Introduction

Hi. I began playing acoustic guitar in June 2010. I'm looking for opportunities to play with and learn from others.

What level guitarist are you? (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert)

Beginner

Where did you find out about the Baltimore Guitarist Group? If from a member, please put their name.

A search on the Meet-ups website

What is your favorite guitar that you own?

I have only one.

What guitar do you wish you owned?

Anything better than I have now. A Taylor or Martin would be nice.

Who is your biggest guitar influence and why?

My favorite musician is Neil Young. Other favorites: Cowboy Junkies, The Decemberists, Brandi Carlile, Richard Thompson, Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Kings of Leon, Grateful Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and most of the musicians who came out of the Troubador, Laurel and Topanga Canyon scene. Genres: Blues, folk, Celtic, singer-songwriter, some bluegrass, most country, old-timey, Americana, alternative, rock, some heavy metal... just about everything, except jazz, and I just might like a smidgen of that, too.

  • Enjoyed meeting and sharing music with you. I live near you, in Timonium and wondered if you'd ever like to get together to practice playing and harmonies. You have a nice vibe... thought it would be fun!

  • Welcome to BGG Beth. Sure don't want to see you kicked out of your house, so c'mon out and play.

  • Hi Beth, The short answer to your following (edited) question. YES!!! We do have a lot of Open Mics, but all of the other events are geared more to interaction between the players. We all love music, and every single one of us was a beginner at one time. Check the calendar and jump in
    Hope to see you,
    Mike
    "Hi.
I play guitar at beginner level..." "and am looking for a group..." "to hang..." "and play." Does this seem like a good fit for your group?"

    thanks,
    Beth
