Responsive Design Tools & Resources w/ Clarissa Peterson

You already know the basics of responsive design, now learn more about some of the techniques and tools that make it easier to create a responsive website: frameworks, navigation patterns, CSS preprocessors like Sass/LESS, responsive images, responsive data tables, and polyfills.

This session will explain how each of these resources can help you build a better responsive website, and we'll delve into the code to see how everything works. Responsive design isn't as difficult as it seems: the secret is taking advantage of all the resources that are available to you instead of trying to solve every problem yourself.

VENUE AND PARKING DETAILS: has offered their space to us for this meetup (huge thanks to Paris Pittman).  It's located in Tide Point in the Ivory Building. Enter the building under the large sign that says "Ivory" and walk by the big blue crab then take an immediate left. You can take the water taxi over from Fells Point (landing #8) to landing #10 or you can drive over and park in any spot marked "Visitor" or in the "F" lot.

See below map for detail. The green is where the designated visitor spaces are. Those are marked "visitor" on the pavement. Watch out for 'reserved' or handicap. The purple shaded in area is one of the employee lots which is available for us to park in, since it's after hours). The Blue marker next to the building is the entrance to the meetup space. Hi folks, I've added the video of the presentation to the website:

The presentation was awesome. I really enjoyed the speaker's knowledge and she covered a variety of topics related to responsive design. I had no idea about most of the tools and frameworks she shared and was happy to hear about them.

Would it be useful to bring a laptop, or is pen and paper plenty?

Hi Steve. It's your call! It *might* be useful for a laptop if you get talking with someone and you want to show them something or vice versa. There's a good mix of laptops and note taking.

I face a probable schedule conflict that night - is there a chance this will be recorded? Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
