Join us for Thursday's BSPUG meeting as we host an informative session featuring longtime member Mark McGovern returning to deliver a session on migrating fileshares in to SharePoint.

Session Abstract

Many organizations are migrating legacy file shares into SharePoint. This session is for anyone who wants to leverage the power of SharePoint to increase document collaboration and improve business processes.  Moving files into SharePoint can quickly drive user adoption of your SharePoint investment.

The session starts with an interactive discussion of the many business benefits of using SharePoint instead of a file share. The session then explores all of the planning decisions that you must address to make your file share migration project a success.

Rounding out the discussion will be a look at the various options available to migrate the documents into SharePoint. Topics include: People, Process, Meta-Data, Folders, Technology, Compliance, and other Common Issues. Packed with real world examples, this session is a must for anyone who is considering migrating file shares into SharePoint.
