HOLIDAY PARTY - Performance Showcase (note time change)

HOLIDAY PARTY and PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE
Monday, December 13th, 6:30 - 9:30

The holiday season is upon us. Our slow jam has been together for nearly TWO years. What better time to show off for each other, serenade each other, show one another how much we've improved? Sign up to perform. Here's how it works:

1. RSVP to me to let me know what you want to perform. This is how you offically "sign up".
2. Perform your song with up to 4 people onstage. Perform alone or with others -- your choice.
3. Six foot five Banjo Bill will be the "house band". He'll back you up if you need a guitar or banjo or
mando.
3. When you're called up to the stage, you'll perform one song.
4. You'll get lots of clapping, support and hoots from your audience.
5. GREAT FOOD begininng at 6:30. Performances start at 7:30.
6. $5.00 for a memorable evening of food, drink and music. (cash bar. One drink minumum. Please
support Paddy's)
7. Stay afterwards to jam. It won't be slow after 9:30 or 10:00, but feel free to join or just listen to great players jam. Even if you've already told me verbally that you want to perform, I would appreciate an official response to this e-mail. Easier to keep track. Thanks! Sue Batkin -

It was a beautiful thing for me to see this jam develop to this point. As I said during my opening remarks, I love the jam for the great fun of it. But I also have a strong philosophical belief in it. Music -- no matter what level we play at - is meant to be played out in the world. This slow jam allows people to take their music out of the closet and into the open air. And there was no event more representative of that than the holiday party showcase. Thanks everyone for your musical comraderie and for being all around fun to hang out with. I look forward to a great year ahead.

I think this was great fun (and a little stressful [smile]). But I loved how everyone was so supportive of the performers. It was great. And, thank you soooo much Sue, for a fabulous catered dinner and for organizing both the jam and the holiday party. The food was really good, and your organization skills are superb!!!

Wow, what a night! It was great to celebrate two years of great music and jamming with y'all! Thanks to Sue our organizer for putting it all together. Also Craig for keeping the sound together all evening. And a special thanks to all of the performers who provided the great music. It was amazing to see how everyone has progressed! I'm really looking forward to even more great music in 2011! Brother Bill

(PS- Thanks to Sarah Galloway for providing the dinosaur awards.)
