We decided to start this Meetup by popular demand, as many people in the Greater London area find this an easy way to keep track of upcoming events. We have also used a Google Group mailing list, which you can find at: Obama London Google board and mail list

3. During the 2008 campaign our focus was dedicated to volunteer activities designed to help Barack Obama win the General Election. We focused on: FINDING US Citizens living in the UK, helping them REGISTER to Vote, and EDUCATING them about the need to REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT well in advance of the election.


4. Post-election, we are working to build on the good will and hard work of our fellow volunteers to find creative ways to support the Administration of President Obama.


5. YES, we enjoy ourselves in the process!


Our Organizer, Karin, was the full-time Election 2008 DNC Regional Field Director for the UK, Ireland, Scandanavia, and southern Africa. Our Assistant Organiser, London Lawyer Rob, is a full-time solicitor, part-time grass roots volunteer, and full-time Obama enthusiast. Both Karin and Rob are based in London.
