- Paul Lamere will present on Music As Silly Putty. In this talk he will explore how to use algorithmic music analysis to help understand and manipulate music -- from detecting click tracks in recorded music to automatically remixing a Lady Gaga video. Paul is also an organizer for the SF Music Hack Day happening May 15th & 16th ( http://sf.musichackda... ).

- Ge Wang will present on the evolution of the Stanford Laptop Orchestra (SLOrk) and Mobile Phone Orchestra (MoPhO) and on creating Smule's new Magic Piano for the iPad.


BIOS

GE WANG is an Assistant Professor at Stanford University in the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), and researches interactive software systems for computer music, programming languages, mobile music, and education at the intersection of computer science and music. Ge is the author of the ChucK audio programming language, the founding director of the Stanford Laptop Orchestra (SLOrk), and the co-founder and director of the Stanford Mobile Phone Orchestra (MoPhO). Ge is the Co-founder, CTO, and Chief Creative Officer of Smule, and the designer of the iPhone's Ocarina and the iPad's Magic Piano.

PAUL LAMERE is the Director of Developer Community at The Echo Nest, a research-focused music intelligence company that provides music information services to developers and partners through a data mining and machine listening platform. Paul is especially interested tools for helping people to discover, understand and manipulate music. Paul also authors a blog about music technology called MusicMachinery.com
