I think this is my first email to the list, in which case, hello. I've
been lurking for a while, I'm a Santa Cruz resident, work in San Jose.
I recently finished a project called 'ammobox' which is kind of a neat
little doddle. It's a vinyl time-code reader for Reaktor that allows
for the asyncronous triggering of samples via MIDI, allowing you to do
some neat layering/slip-n-grip tricks that otherwise wouldn't be
possible with regular vinyl or any of the existing digital-vinyl-
systems. (Ms. Pinky might be able to do it, but I know of nothing
that does, and certainly nothing for Reaktor..)
I've put a couple of videos on youtube to show it off:
The Reaktor ensemble is available for free from my website:
I've also written up the project a little bit on my wiki at
I'm currently sponsoring a contest with the donated money I've
recieved so far ($40USD!) woohoo! Plus another $110 out of pocket to
get the time-code reader improved to make it more rock solid for you
live performers out there. All gathered donations are going to be
going to the contest, so if I magically get more than $150, then the
bounty goes up.

Thanks! Hope you guys dig the project. I got my first 'success story'
from a user today and am feeling pretty stoked!
