Introduction

My two bassets are Whirli, an active 7-year-old boy that I rescued from the Castaic Shelter and Gunner, my firecracker pup - born on July 4th, 2007. I'm active with basset rescue and volunteer at Basset Rescue Network at Daphneyland.

  • Hi Bruce, and everyone
Sadly I must announce the passing of my sweet Basset, General. He started having seizures, and the vet said he had a brain tumor and told me it would be best to put him down. It was one of the worst moments of my life. I held him in my arms until it was over. Do you know if this is common in Bassets? This was only 3 weeks ago, and I still have tears in my eyes as I write this. His bed is still by my bed. I miss him so much. He really loved the meetups.

  • Hi Bruce, I may have told you when we were st the Spring Games - we went to a Bulldog meet up at the beginning of the year and were persuaded, against better judgement, to unleash both Duke and Oscar - anyway - undercover animal cops were there and ticketed 6 or 7 of us. They will dismiss the charges if Maribel and I both do 24hrs volunteering at an animal rescue - we would prefer to help at Daphneyland than anywhere else - do you think they would want our help, with anything Jeff [masked]

  • Sorry we can't make it aging this time. Hopefully we'll get to meet soon. Our Emma had her puppies last week so no traveling for a bit. Is there any way to let all know about the pups incase anyone wants to expand their family? I know alot of you have get your bassets from the basset rescue, but thought I'd ask. She had 9...5 girls and 4 boys. We have lost 3 of the girls. One was just too small and the other two we think she sat on. This is her first litter and she's just a baby herself! Thx!!

  • Happy Birthday Gunner.......From Bogie......!

  • Is Gunner as much of a character as Bogie? Bogie runs the house and I have a boxer and a dalmatian, both take orders from Bogie. Look forward to seeing you and Bogie's little bro.
