Okay so I couldn't get people to volunteer, and I understand we're all working, but please help LOUISIANA keep this film festival! Everyone can afford one $10.00 ticket to one of the festival offerings. We have thousands of members in our various groups and we all claim to want to support the movie industry here. This is HUGE, guys. For my movie friends, this is what all of us have been working toward- the opportunity to meet and network with established industry professionals!
The festival opens in NOLA Thursday complete with after party, then continues to BR. $10.00 isn't even two cocktails at a straight bar! It's to show we're really serious about growing our industry by also growing a strong infrastructure. In fact, I don't understand, after all the small film fests we've all volunteered for - with all the solid experience we've acquired these last three years, WHY weren't there more of us at the orientations. We, the locals, have a beautiful chance to shine here and nobody has shown up. Now I urge ALL of you to go through the offerings and by just one ticket. Consider it an investment in your future- and the state's film industry. This is an international Film Festival. For my non-industry friends: visitors will be staying in our hotels, eating at our restaurants, shopping in our stores. Producers and directors of independent films are coming here for the first time. I have been reading the Sundance reviews by non-industry people and we have so much more to offer. We can grow this. We can make it unmistakably ours. Please go to SCREENINGS and buy a ticket. There is literally something for everyone. $10.00 for one ticket- are you and your film career worth $ $10.00? Is your hotel, your restaurant, your TV station, your shoe store, hair salon, your real estate business worth $10.00?
Can you please help by sharing this with your friends?
Thank you for helping us help our state,
Mari H. Presedo
