Hello! My name is Gregory Kallenberg, and I’m the Executive Director of the Louisiana Film Prize (http://www.lafilmprize.com/
). Susie Labry suggested I get in touch.
If you haven’t already heard about us, I wanted to fill you in, and invite you all to participate in the Louisiana Film Prize. We are a nationally recognized, award-winning short film competition with a $50,000 cash prize (winners also receive iTunes distribution and festival appearances). The one unbreakable rule: You must shoot your short in NW Louisiana (all pre- and post- production can be done at home).
begin mid-January and the production window is open till early July. One we receive the rough cuts on July 7, we pare the films down to 20 finalists. These “Top 20" films compete for the money and the glory during the raucously fun Film Prize Festival Weekend (October 2-5). Last year, Baton Rouge-based Kyle Clements won the top prize with his film “Silo”.
Currently, we are launching Film Prize 2014 on January 14 in Shreveport. NOVAC in New Orleans is having a Film Prize event on January 16., We are hoping we can come host an event in Baton Rouge on January 15. At our events, we'd like to get filmmakers together, hand out some awesome Film Prize swag and tell them more about our competition.
Can you guys help us put something together? We’d love to try to schedule something with you guys.
Let me know what you think. If you have any questions or need more info, feel free to
