Baton Rouge Film, TV, Theater & Music Industry Meetup Group Message Board › Governor Will Support LA Film Industry and Keep LA Film Tax Credits As Is
Baton Rouge, LA
This says the Governor is WITH US! WOW!
We need to thank Governor for returning back to us. Email Governor at http://www.gov.la.gov/index.cfm?md=form&tmp=email_governor by filling out form on his site and/or call and leave message 225-342-7015 .
Thank LFEA for their Effort, Activities, and Action at the Capitol. And thank all our people for coming, too. I heard he sure felt the full force of our contacting and attending and being Vigilent. This is another Big one to win.
Read This I got from Louisiana Film & Entertainment Association:
"Fiscal sessions are never boring, that's for sure. Yesterday, the governor, once our enemy, came out in favor of the film and entertainment industry promising to veto any reductions to the motion picture tax credit program which may be proposed by the Legislature!
In turn, he is asking for LFEA's help to convey to the House of Representatives that putting budget plans together behind closed doors (that's what seems to be happening) is the wrong approach. That's a position long championed by LFEA. Any amendment to the tax credit programs must be the product of the constitutionally-protected legislative process and must be the product of full debate and deliberation with accurate information and understanding of the consequences.
Please reach out to the Governor and the House of Representatives to let them know that the film and entertainment industry strongly opposes uniform cuts to the incentive programs without the full and transparent utilization of the legislative process, and that any amendment to the program not properly debated and passed must be killed."
and we plea SUNSHINE AT THE CAPITOL
