Baton Rouge Film, TV, Theater & Music Industry Mee Message Board › BEWARE Jan Moller is Still At It Off Season fighting Film Industry Tax Credi
Baton Rouge, LA
This Man JAN MOLLER and his LOUISIANA BUDGET PROJECT (LBP) http://www.labudget.org/lbp/ . STILL AT IT AGAINST THE LA. FILM INDUSTRY. He BRAGS on him being mentioned in the article in The Wrap http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/louisiana-hollywood-south-survives-threat-film-incentives-106071 on how he led effort to remove/decrease our tax credits. He us the one Leader responsible for leading effort to destroy our tax credits. Read quote below from his Louisiana Budget Project Newsletter and their newsletter "The Daily Dime":
"LBP also spoke out against the proliferation of sales tax holidays, which have gained favor among politicians in recent years but do little or nothing to help low-income families.
Finally, LBP's longstanding critique of film subsidies continued to gain attention. The latest example came when The Wrap, a website that covers the movie industry, looked at the various plans proposed this year to bring Louisiana's film spending under control - none of which came close to passing. "Film tax credits are a wonderful deal if you're in the film business, but it hasn't been a good deal for the state," Moller said.
He not only fights us, but he is fighting other industries as well and he is the main reason why we have to keep going to Baton Rouge. One approached me in class with warning, "it ain't over, and you can prepare to return to Baton Rouge in two more years, wait!" We are prepared! and this is a note reminder even tho we are off season. We do not vacate or sleep! I'm off season, well he is quite off season, too (above), but keeping on our case with Wrap article, The Daily Dime, etc. He never sleeps.
WE NEED STABILITY!
