Deep Cliff, Saturday, 4/6, 11:15

Unless you purchased a GroupGolfer voucher a while back, the green fee is $38.

Note - This is a tough, unforgiving course for newer golfers. Lots of opportunities to lose balls. Beginners and newer golfers may not be interested in this outing.

Do you know what group you put me in and what time? I don't know anyone and can't recognize anyone from their photos on this. I just joined so can someone be on the look out for a lost soul? Is there anyone from my area I can carpool with? Where do we meet--at the Pro Shop?

Who started taking pictures at these events??? I want no evidence !!!

LOL, Brian! Hey, Nikki: Larry and Sally (in the first photo) are acting as our Ambassadors and will direct our members in right direction. Katie has also agreed to be an Ambassador but because this is her first time golfing Deep Cliff, she may send you in the wrong direction! Hahahahahaha! I added her photo above, so you will recognize her, too. She's the one on the right; Lorna is on the left.

Nikki, I will share a cart with you.

    April 3, 2013

  • Dean

I will be walking with my hand cart.

    April 3, 2013

  • Nicette Balukjian (.

Is it too late for me to get a golf cart. Is this course hilly? and long?

    April 3, 2013

  • Brian A.

Tee times are 11:15 through 11:45 and one at 12:07. I could not get 6 consecutive tee times. meh...we'll deal with it.

I put in the note for the cart but it should not be a problem. I will be there early enough to make sure it's handled.

    • Lucy

LOL, I didn't see this post until AFTER I posted my other comments about the tee times. Suggestion: You have 6 tee times and 22 attendees, so if one member cancels, see if the starter will let you do a fivesome (like in Group3, with faster players); the starters there are pretty cool about us doing a fivesome.

Oh, I just noticed that the headline now says the tee time's 11:15 a.m. Please arrive by 10:45 a.m. to check in at the pro shop and walk DOWN to the large putting green by the first tee.

I'm guessing the tee times are under Brian's last name, "Armbruster."

    Have fun, everyone!

The last time this large group golfed Deep Cliff, I suggested everyone meet at the large putting green DOWN by the 1st tee (not the small putting green by the pro shop/restroom). Brian will most likely get there early to have breakfast in the cafe and will be busy greeting members & arranging the group assignments. Therefore, it would be cool if perhaps Larry and Sally or Katie could stick around by the pro shop to point everyone in the right direction. Thanks, guys.

I don't know what the tee times are, but I suggest everyone try to arrive at least 30 minutes before the tee time to pay their green fee and to check in with Brian.

Because there are several new members playing for the first time with this group, I'm sure Brian will email everyone his phone # in case you need to get in touch with him Saturday morning.

Like the last Deep Cliff outing, I am not able to join you (I scheduled a museum meetup for this date, ugh!), so please take a lot of photos for me, thanks!

Hi, Have not played much around here and new to area. How far is this course from Walnut Creek where I live to allow myself plenty of time to get there?

    April 1, 2013

    • Brian A.

That's a good hour long drive down to Cupertino. Would suggest getting with some of the Fremont crew and working a carpool.

      April 1, 2013

    • Nicette Balukjian (.

Is there anyone from Fremont who is going and I could carpool with?

    Hi Brian-
When you make the tee times can you reserve a 2-person cart for me and someone else (if they want to ride we can split it). I called the pro shop and they won't allow me to reserve a cart since they didn't have your tee times yet.

Hi Michael and Brian, that would be me interested in sharing the cart. Thanks in advance, cheers!

Looking forward to it. Deep Cliff is a fun course. BTW - how do you take advantage of the Group Golfer discount? The posted URL just takes you to their current offer.

    Hi Brian,
What is your recommendation for me me? go or no go?

    April 1, 2013

    • Brian A.

Up to you really. Would suggest bringing lots of garbage balls to smack around. Although it's an easier course ratings wise, there are plenty of opportunities to lose balls - water, trees, gnomes. If you get frustrated easily, the course may not be for you. If you take it as a learning opportunity, then might be worth your time.

I will be there, I would also like to get a golf cart too. My strength is not fully back, cheers!

Deep Cliff is a nice short 18 hole Executive course, easy to walk, but they do have about 6 electric carts if would prefer to ride. A lot of par 3's but u can loose a ball or 2 in the water or the woods if u don't always hit it straight.

    April 1, 2013

  • Jenn S

I'll be there for sure :)

First 18 hole course. Looking forward to it.

Looking forward to putting those golf lessons into practice!

Er, the groupgolfer.com link mentioned in the invite just takes you to the main page of the site. How do you get the Deep Cliff voucher?

    March 31, 2013

    • Brian A.

The deal was only available for a limited time and is no longer available. When deals come available that are within our wheelhouse, both budget and location, we will post the event and reference to get the coupon. You are welcome to join us nonetheless.

This is the day before my bday, so plans could change if I end up going anywhere that weekend. But I think I'm in and will let you know long in advance if I can't make it.
