OUR TEE TIMES START AT 11:28a. About the course:
Playing only 6317 yards from the tips, Delta View is on the shorter side, even for a municipal course. Since the course was built-in two phases by two different designers, there is certainly a different feel about each nine, especially by the designs of the greens.
The front nine is a mixture oddly conceived holes of which only a few test the shot making skills of the golfer. The 6th, 7th, and 8th holes offer an amazing view of the delta region and depending on the wind direction can play as the most difficult of the first nine holes. Alister MacKenzie’s back nine starts as mundane as they come with a straight forward Par 4. However, the remainder of the second nine demands multiple shot making skills from the golfer. Accurate and aggressive play is handsomely rewarded, while errant shots can prove costly. MacKenzie’s back nine boasts some of the more challenging green designs in Northern California, making a course lacking yardage a test for even low handicappers.
Who should play here:
This is one of the first 18 hole courses I played. That said, you should probably be able to shoot under 115 reliably to enjoy this course.
