1-hr. group lesson $10 per person at Fremont Park

Some of our members have expressed an interest in taking lessons, so I negotiated a one-hour group lesson rate of $10 per person. This introductory session will cover whatever we want. I suggest the proper grip, the full swing and the short game.

The weather continues to be gorgeous, so let's get a bunch of members signed up so that we can golf together regularly.

The lesson is only an option; if you're golfing at Fremont Park with us, you do not have to sign up for the lesson. Conversely, those who are not golfing with us afterwards are welcome to sign up for this lesson.

I'm thinking 12:00 - 1:00 = lesson, then a 30-min. break for a quick bite, rest or putting practice, then we tee off starting at 1:30. We can have the lesson earlier, or we can tee off immediately after the lesson--whatever this group decides.

They have awesome PGA pros there, so this will be a fun and valuable hour.

Great PGA instructors! It would be difficult to work with such a large group as ours, but they did a fantastic job. They also gave us over an hour of instruction.

Same here like Rissa, I've RSVP about a week ago. I haven't gotten a chance to check the email; I just now saw it. Please let me know if any spots open up. Thanks.

I sent you 2 emails: One yesterday about Fremont Park renting clubs for $10 and one today about the fact that you are now confirmed for the group lesson.

The three people on the Waiting List, please stand by. If I don't hear back from some of the people on the list by 8:00 p.m. tomorrow, I'll move them to "Not Attending" and move you guys up.

I just returned from Fremont Park and had a nice meeting with the manager David Suh, their head PGA pro. If you can, please arrive at 11:30 so that you can check in and get organized. Tell the pro shop that you're part of "Lucy's group" and pay your $10 fee. If you're golfing afterwards, go ahead and pay that as well, or you can wait until after the lesson. The sooner everyone gets there, the sooner we can start (they'll give us a little more than 1 hour).

They are going to reserve the whole patio area for us, and it's right next to the pro shop (you can't miss it). I'll be there to greet you and to split you into 2 groups: the newbies and the more experienced. David himself will be one of the instructors, and the other PGA pro will be a woman named Jue.

Let me know afterwards if you're interested in doing more lessons or one follow-up lesson and David and I will sit down to see what type of deal they can come up for us.

Five people on the list (who I haven't met yet) haven't replied to my email asking them to confirm, nor have they checked this site in over two weeks. Just a reminder that if you cancel at the last minute or no-show, you will not be invited to participate in future events I schedule.

There are 12 members on the RSVP list I've never met, and for 11 of the 12, this is your very first event with us, which is exciting. I think it's absolutely fantastic that everyone's interested in this group lesson, so I will reiterate my (not Eric's) attendance policy:

If you no-show or cancel at the last minute, you are not invited to join future events I schedule, and I schedule a whole lot of events. The golf course is scheduling their PGA pros to work with us, so if there are last-minute cancellations or no-shows, we will no longer be welcomed with open arms at Fremont Park. Not a good thing, especially if I want to schedule another group lesson in the future or a golf outing there.

So, if you think there's a chance you might have to cancel, do it now. Thanks.

Wow, this is awesome! Lots of interest in the group lesson. If we get more than 8, I'll ask for a couple of their PGA instructors. Half the group can do a swing lesson, the other half a lesson on the short game, then switch off.

The $10 rate is a steal, because the cheapest group deal I've found at other golf courses is $25 per person. I've seen some of the Fremont Park golf instructors working with their students, and they are fun and phenomenal.

Maybe we can divide the group into two: the more advanced players can receive a lesson on how to improve their game/swing, i.e., a tweaking session, while the newbies to the game can learn the fundamentals. Or whatever . . .
