I'm sending this email to everyone in case our women members or women friends you know might be interested but are intimidated to join a formal GOLF LEAGUE. FYI, there's nothing to be nervous about . . . it's me heading it. And for those who don't know me, there's really nothing formal or intimidating about me--go ahead, ask any of our members who know me or have met me. With that said:
I am thrilled that so many of you are interested and will be attending our info meeting this coming Sunday! Many of you who are signing up are true beginners, which is absolutely awesome! Because we'll be having different competitions each month, everyone has a chance to win. This means we will not always base each month's tournaments on the best overall score.
I was over at Fremont Park tonight to discuss items for our meeting, including the types of competition we'll be having, like 2-person "best ball" (will be explained at the meeting); "points-only" for getting bogeys, pars and birdies (your overall score will not matter); scores for certain holes only (like the last 5 holes, or odd/even holes or the 5 shortest holes); 3-Clubs; overall # of putts (overall scores will not matter) . . . to name a few. Please come to the meeting with other fun tournament suggestions.
Like with our last 3-Club Tournament, we'll have the closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contest holes, as well as pre-game competitions. Alex said he'll have rings drawn around some of the practice putting green holes so that we can get different points for hitting certain areas (like in the game of dart).
We'll also discuss our end-of-year celebration (what/where/when/prizes for the Most Improved Player, most tourneys won, least tourneys won, the best putter, etc.).
I am sooooooooo excited and looking forward to a really fun season! See you ladies on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. I'll email the attendees my phone # later this week.
