H. Steve Clark, RCI, CDT President Construction Inspection Specialists  

Mr. Clark has been in the construction field for the past forty years and his breadth of experience ranges from small residential development to multi-million dollar highway and bridge construction projects. 

Steve is both a licensed California General Engineering and General Building Contractor, a Registered Construction Inspector, a Construction Document Technologist, OSHA certified safety trainer and instructor and has sat on the boards of several national construction associations.

This experience has provided him with insights into those portions of construction and construction lending that present the most amount of risk if one is not managing that risk strategically. 

He has been providing these risk management services to commercial construction lenders nationally for the past sixteen years.

For the past several years, Steve has brought, and has offered his risk management expertise to the Private Lending Industry and has been warmly embraced by all that have had the benefit of his consultations. 

One of Steve’s favorite statements to his clients is: “ If it’s Gray, You Will Pay”.

    We all know we ought to put it in writing, but Steve made it abundantly clear why--and offered some concrete ways to reduce our risk as investors.

    This was especially valuable for private investors: I doubt many of us realized our loan agreements with the buyer could specify clauses that the buyer and general contractor had to include in their contract. I definitely will start having more influence over the projects I fund thanks to Steve.
