Our Speaker for May is:  Niki Canotas


In her almost 20 years in Financial Services, Niki Canotas consults regularly with executives from a variety of fields to help create synergistic strategies to world-impacting problems that hit home personally, such as Long Term Care, Investments, Retirement, College Funding, Life Insurance, Real Estate and Cash Management.

She regularly speaks in the Bay Area on finance. Education is important. Developing your own personal financial philosophy and the matching Asset Allocation to back it up is imperative to her.

Asset Allocation from a person perspective is a key factor for Niki in her advising. For example, excluding a corporation or commodity (like oil). Or being heavy in Real Estate and needing more Cash Management because you personally have an expertise in it, should be accounted for in your assets and planning.

Prior to her current position, she created and led Mobius, a marketing and coaching company where she did Television and Radio production and Business Development. She has been in front of the camera as well, as an announcer for Greek TV on Channel 26 or a hair model on Channel 7 show.

With an Financial Services office in Silicon Valley for almost 20 years, Niki now lives in Campbell and enjoys being a local, going to the Farmer’s Market, raising bees, doing Hot Yoga and learning to ride her Harley. She is and has been a member of the Campbell Chamber of Commerce almost 10 years, and the Bay Area Greek American Business Association for almost 30 years as well as other boards in the non-profit and community fields.

Her education is wide and varied. Having attended Arizona State, San Francisco State, Collins College and Otis Parsons School of Fine Arts just to describe a few. She is continually taking classes across the country to understand The Markets, and Society.

    Bob: My apologies for answer a question with a question...The key component is having the Buyer connect with the foreclosing entity. Assuming that it is a mortgage company, the best way to prevent the deal from going to the courthouse steps prior to your closing is bringing forward all aspects of a bona fide transaction...purchase agreement, loan approval letter, non-refundable deposits, sourcing / seasoning of funds, etc. If the mortgage company can avoid the courthouse steps and know that they will be paid in full - they will be motivated...but your purchase transaction structure must be solid. There is some negotiations that will need to be performed and a sales pitch that you can in fact close by a specified date.

    Does anyone know a cash lender/hard money lender who will loan money to prevent foreclosure when the house is too high on the loan/equity ration. A house we want to save for the buyer has only $100K equity, was appraised at $650K last week. Resident owes $540K on it. How can he save the house without foreclosure after not making a payment since last September due to financial reversals. We can use help as soon as possible. Thanx!
