Bay Area Young Moms Club (BAYMC) was created to provide the opportunity to build lasting friendships amongst young mothers of the SF Bay Area. As well as establish solid relationships for our children. We (the organizers) are centrally located in Palo Alto and the neighboring communities. Most meet ups take place during the week days and work day hours with a few after hour & weekend meet ups. With that said, BAYMC is open to young mothers all across the Bay Area who are willing to contribute meet ups in their regions. We encourage all members to post meet ups at whatever time works for them at whatever venue they are most comfortable. Variety is always welcomed!
Member participation is very important to us! Each potential member must respond to the organizer email in order to join- we do this to ensure that members accepted are in fact young mothers who intend to participate fully in our group.
BAYMC Rules and Regulations
You must keep your RSVPs current. If you cannot make something you are expected to be at, please let someone (or everyone) know as soon as possible so that we're not all waiting or looking for you. You can do this by calling the event host, an organizer, emailing, posting, Facebooking, or meetup messaging! Again, please avoid being a no show.
In addition, if you are on a waitlist for a meetup, and you know you won't be able to come, even if you're moved up, please remove yourself from the waitlist so that the next available mom can attend.
We think all your kids, cupcakes, cookies, cats, and doggies are cute and are fun to look at! However, please post an up-to-date picture of yourself (it can include your child/pet/spouse) as your main profile photo. This will help make it easier to identify everyone at a meetup event.
It would be nice to update and fill out all the questions on your profile page, if you haven't done so already. We are here to get to know one another :).
Meetup feedback is important to us. After an event please go back to the calendars and rate the meetups. Also comment if you need to. For instance, let us know how your experience was. This way we all know which meetups/venues were successful and which ones were flops.
We strongly encourage all members to schedule and host playdates! Please don't be shy about offering to host one - at your home, a cafe, a park, library, wherever you would like. Putting an event up on the calendar that works for your schedule and location is the best way to meet other nearby friends and like-scheduled/minded members as well. Posting meetups is the most effective way to make this group workout for you! The calendar is always open for anyone to schedule whatever it is you have on your mind.
For any member wanting to do a home playdate and would rather meet a person first before welcoming them into your home, that is totally understandable. Please feel free to state in your meetup details to only RSVP if you have met at a previous playdate.
Few tips, try to avoid overlapping another meetup in the same city. Exchanging phone numbers before the event time through the event page or personal email helps with locating members you have yet to meet.
Being a member of BAYMC
A big reason for joining our group is to make friends for yourself and your little one(s). Making it out to an event and participating is the best way to do just that. We want our members to be active and stay active. We know that our group is rather large and very diverse in schedules and locations. We do realize we have kiddos on different nap schedules. We also have part time and full time moms, and members only available weekends or weekdays. With that being said, we still expect every member to attend a BAYMC meetup at least once a month. Can’t find one that fits your schedule or location? Make one! Please, no lurking or joining just to advertise your business.
If your account has been inactive for over 2 months we will assume you are no longer interested and your account will be deleted. You are always welcome to rejoin when your schedule permits.
