Hi everyone, below is information sent to me recenty on a paddling event this weekend, so I thought I would pass it on. Sounds like a fun event:

Greetings Fellow Paddlesport Enthusiasts!

Foor those of you who haven't heard, we're PARTYING this Saturday Oct 16 at the brand new Alviso Marina in lovely Alviso California (just north of San Jose).

KAYAKERS CRAVED! If you have a paddlecraft, BRING IT!!!

1) 10am-4pm, Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese is holding the first ever 'Day on the Bay' in Alviso. Hoardes of paddlers are expected to join us for a humungous celebration of the South Bay's brand new paddling access point. Come to the Marina any time between 10am-4pm.

FREE BBQ!!!

2) Then 4pm-10pm, we're taking over the fabulous South Bay Yacht Club, 1491 Hope St, Alviso for the mother of all LUAUS!! In fact, it's my 'halfway to 700 in dog years' birthday party, so we're pulling out the stops to make it the coolest event in the Bay!

So if you can attend the 'Day on the Bay' from 10am-4pm, just show up with your favorite paddlecraft at the Alviso Marina (Mill St, Alviso) and paddle with us.

Suggested donation $20/adults at the door (18 and under FREE! If you can't afford $20/adult, come on down anyway and we'll cover yah.) This is officially a fundraiser for VMCF Valley Medical Center Foundation's Take Flight for Kids project.

Adult beverages available all night at the Yacht Club.

Wear Hawaiian shirts! Craziest shirt wins a prize.
