Built in 1914 the German Tourist Club is an amazing location in the heart of Muir Woods. Three times a year they are open to the public and this Sunday is Sommerfest. The festival will feature polka band, traditional group dances in traditional dress, a menu of traditional foods and of course, excellent beers complete a fun-filled day for all ages. Tickets to the event are $15 and can be purchased at the Tourist Club on the day of the event.
We will hopefully be able to grab a table (we are getting there as it opens), I will set up a meet-up sign which you can use to find us, otherwise text me to find us.
Parking is extremely limited. There is simply not enough parking space on the mountain to accommodate the number of guests who attend, and many attendees who have parked along Panoramic Highway have been ticketed. As with all events like this DO NOT drive if you plan on partaking of the beer at the Sommerfest.
I will be parking in Muir Beach and hiking to the event (the hiking part of the event is hosted on my hiking meet-up group: Golden Gate Hikers)
