BevMo's Holiday Beer Festival

This is a special tasting....not because there are lots of beers and ales to sample, but because BevMo has asked it's distributors to select from a large variety of European beers, developed for the holiday's. From October through to the holiday months, it’s been a tradition in many countries, and now in the US, to produce seasonal and specialty beer to celebrate the Holiday’s. There are so many of them I cannot name them all – but BevMo (and some local breweries) are making it easy with this annual special
Holiday Beer Festival. Here’s some of the growing list of beverages you can expect at the tasting;

Holiday, Seasonal & Special Beers, (some are called Winter Warmers), date back thousands of years. These big, bold, intoxicating brews were originally produced to celebrate winter’s Saturnalia– a Roman Feast. The first professional brewers, Medieval Monks, used their finest ingredients to produce special warming beers for the occasion.
Brewers today have continued the ritual with either very old recipes or new fangled ideas using spices, fruits, herbs, coffee & chocolate. Rich seasonal brews with big, bold flavors evoke memories of frosty nights in front of a roaring fire. These special beers will bring a smile to your lips and a glow to your spirit.
The selection is amazing - and best of all, this is your opportunity to sample interesting beverages - without having to purchasing them. If you discover a gem - you can find a local BevMo (or other store that sells beer) and pick up a six-pack for the holiday's. The tasting is being held at Ft. Mason and includes live music and other goodies. The entrance fee is $40.00 and covers unlimited samples. The event runs from 5:30 to 9:00 PM. You can get your advance tickets here-

    Just one small thing, so more like a 4.5 stars. Tickets were not at Will Call but at a different check in area. Made me panic for a second.

    Surprisingly, I actually found a few of you out on the floor. That is, "walking around the floor", though with the amount of beer there there might have been a few people actually unconscious on the floor ...

    Had fun eating snacks & people watching...but as usual paid $15 for Designated Driver tix and got nothing for it. Had to pay $1 for water, although my hubby complained and got another for free. BTW we bought a yummy pork sandwich outside the venue.

    If you see a guy with a black shirt that says "Bistro" on the front and a "West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Fest" on the back, come up and say hi!

    Because this is a large festival type of event...it will be difficult for everyone to meet at the same time. So lot for me with the BABS "I LOVE BEER" sticker and get yours.

    This event is almost sold out - so get your ticket now! Also - these are strong beers and ales so it's suggested that you eat a substantial meal before arrive.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
