Ratebeer Gallery III: Beer Fest

  • Mar 29, 2014 · 2:00 PM

RateBeer Gallery is an ongoing series of Bay Area beer events focusing on what's in the glass and beyond. It's a forum for tasting new, beautiful, best and strange and also for brewers to discuss topics on beer culture, art, ethics, history, aesthetics, process, people and more.

We went to the last RateBeer Gallery event and it was a lot of fun, really a new spin on the beer fest. Also there were some really good beers available that have never been distributed here.

This time they will be offering selections from Modern Times (a top new brewer in the world), Sante Adairius, Almanac, Russian River, AleSmith (brewer of the year), Deschutes, Great Divide, Stone, Sierra Nevada, Drakes, Bear Republic and more...

Great event, but heavy on the IPAs

I'll agree that my favorites were all IPAs or DIPAs. But overall the level of the beers, IPA or not, seemed uniformly high. Assuming there's a Gallery IV, I'll try hard to be back.

Will there be food there other than the cheeses?

I would only count on what is listed

One minor update: I won't be wearing a BABS T-shirt

A comment and question on the beer list: I found all of the ones you didn't find on Untappd, so there might be some information there. My question is about the Yeti - you linked to the Belgian version and I was wondering which one we're really expecting?

Can I buy my ticket at the door or is it only ahead of time?

Hi Tom, what does "supporters" mean?

    March 12, 2014

    • Mike W.

In my case it means I bought some stuff when BABS had the money-raising auction. And yes, Tom, I'll take one of those if available.
