Please volunteer to help us distributed food at the San Francisco Food Bank! It's a great way to meet people and help out the community as well. Our shift is Saturday from 12:30-3:30pm.
The San Francisco Food Bank works to end hunger in San Francisco. It provides donated and purchased food to over 600 non-profit agencies, enabling them to give nutritious meals or supplemental groceries to thousands of low-income families and individuals in our community. This year, the organization will distribute nearly 33 million pounds of food, or enough to provide 70,000 meals a day.
It's important to dress in layers, as the temperature in the warehouse is often cool, to wear casual/grubby clothes, and to wear comfortable (no open-toe) shoes. Anyone wearing sandals or any other shoe with an open toe will not be able to participate.
We can utilize the parking lot as well. Additional street parking is free and abundant.
Please report to the south side of the building, entering through the central pedestrian door. Signs will direct you to the volunteer break room. We have to sign in upon arrival.
