Bay Area Film Fans Message Board › Save our 'Dome' theater from destruction
Walnut Creek, CA
Dear Bay Area Films Fans
It has been announced in the news of pending plans to destroy our local Contra Costa movie house landmark known as the Century "Dome" theater. The destruction of the Century Dome theater, our only movie house that shows independent films in our area would be a great loss to Contra Costa. Because the house has paid off its mortgage they can operate lower attended films. But not such a privilege for our other high rent multi plex movie houses. The loss of access to world cultural would be another blow to freedom of thought and free speech that so any of our men and women fight and die for overseas. Once again victimizing the poor and low income residents Pleasant Hill has made special exception for who cannot themselves, afford big screen home TV's or Internet. The giant screen at the dome is the largest in the Contra Costa area and would be a great loss to the history of Pleasant Hill and to a greater Contra Costa. I would hate to see Pleasant Hill become another Walnut Creek but that seems to be the desire of our newest elected officials. I can only suggest right now that people use the following e-mail links to write a short latter of praise for the Dome to our newly elected officials and put in a good word to save this remarkable treasure.
Thank you for your support
