Sunken Garden: Good Starting Point

Update:  We have confirm tee times on Feb 23 (Sunday) at:  10:30, 10:37, 10:45 (am).  Reserved under "Nishi" (sound like Knee-She)

Please check-in by 10:15am.  Come early and get to know one-another so you'll know who you want to golf with and put yourself into groups.  I confirmed with Sunken Garden, their *replay* is $5 for both residence and non-residence.

We're going to play regular golf the first round (9 hole).  For those who's staying to do the replay, we're limiting ourselves to 3 clubs.   Rules are simple and I'll go over them again on Sunday.

----------------- Original MeetUp Post -------------------

New to Golf? ... Busy Schedule? ... Recovering from a long absence?

Sunken Garden, is the course for you! One of the better *cheap* golf in the Bay Area. This executive 9 hole with a replay option is a local's favorite.

Weekend Green Fee: ~ $19 (non-residence)

**$2 discount for Sunnyvale residence

Replay: $5 (residence & non-residence)

This golf course come with a driving range and putting area but it's empty for a reason. If you need to practice I suggest doing so the day before at San Jose Muni or Shoreline Golf.

    Thank you everyone for being so punctual and looking after one another. You made my job alot easier. And a special thank you to Anna, Elle, Lorna and Lora for joining me in the 3 clubs tournament. You all did a great job and I look forward to seeing you at future golf events.

    The weather was great and the company even better. Can't say the same about my game though. Awesome meetup.

    I'm so glad you'll join me in the tournament. Keeping this casual and fun. Here are the rules:

    1) No "gimmies"
    2) No mulligan
    3) No Buddy System (can't share clubs)
    4) Lost ball: can't find in 5 mins -> 1 stroke penalty
    5) Playing with wrong/another person's ball -> 2 stroke penalty

    In the unlikely event you reach double digits, you have my permission to lie. =P

      I like that it's a simple 1-stroke penalty for a lost ball, instead of stroke and distance. But personally, I limit the search time to 1 minute! That's plenty. Don't see it? Drop and go!

    I'm in for this bright challenging idea....

  • Anna

    Love your idea! This would spice things up a little. I aim for lowest score. :-)

    Tossing this out there to see if you would be interested in a 3 clubs tournament style golf during Reply. We'll play regular golf during the first 9 hole, for those remaining for replay, we'll limit ourselves to only 3 clubs *this include your putter*. Tournament prize for 9 hole on replay: $10 giftcard for lowest score, $10 giftcard for most balls in bunkers. =o). Lottery determine winner in case of tie. Winner cannot win twice. If I get a few interested players, we can spit off into a smaller group while the others continue on. I'm a big girl, if you hate the idea, be honest. I can take it.
