The Place Beyond The Pines @ Century 20 RWC

The highly anticipated dark new drama from director Derek Cianfrance ("Blue Valentine") powerfully explores the consequences of motorcycle rider Luke's (Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling) fateful decision to commit a crime to support his child. The incident renders him targeted by policeman Avery (Golden Globe Award nominee Bradley Cooper), and the two men become locked on a tense collision course which will have a devastating impact on both of their families in the years following.

I liked the movie very much; very unexpected ending for Grossling.
I'd like to suggest we see "The Painting" next or soon. It is opening next Friday at Bay Area theatres. It is an animation about the clash among characters in an unfinished work of art; fully drawn, sketched, figure sticks, partially painted,...similar to social classes in human societies..

I agree, Scott! The cast is spectacular! Ryan Gosling and Ben Mendelsohn meet expectations, but Bradley Cooper just earned a few more brownie points. And the kids in the third act were just spectacular! I thought the writing could have been improved on but the cinematography, performances and direction were all superb! Dark and haunting but beautiful.

This is a great movie! Most likely going to be my favorite movie of the year, and the year isnt even over! Bradley Cooper will most likely be up for an Oscar!

I will come if I can. The surgery I just had on my shoulder last Friday would be the only reason I do not show up.
