Lovelace @ Camera 12

Join us for this short-notice event tomorrow at the Camera 12 cinemas in San Jose.

"Lovelace" is the adaptation of Linda Lovelace's 1980 autobiography, "Ordeal".

In 1972-before the internet, before the porn explosion-Deep Throat was a phenomenon: the first scripted pornographic theatrical feature film, featuring a story, some jokes, and an unknown and unlikely star, Linda Lovelace. Escaping a strict religious family, Linda discovered freedom and the highlife when she fell for and married charismatic hustler Chuck Traynor. As Linda Lovelace she became an international sensation-less centerfold fantasy than a charming girl-next-door with an impressivecapacity for fellatio. Fully inhabiting her new identity, Linda became an enthusiastic spokesperson for sexual freedom and uninhibited hedonism. Six years later she presented another, utterly contradictory, narrative to the world-and herself as the survivor of a far darker story.

Showtime is 3.05 pm - we'll meet at 2.45 pm at the box office. We can go for coffee or an early dinner after the show ...

Thanks! Maybe the critics had certain expectations and thus did not rate it well -

I'd agree with the critics that it was a very surface telling (personally I don't think I'd have been able to sit through the movie if it were any more "brutal" tbh), and the ending really was "too neat," but those are only quibbles. I'm glad this film was made.
