There must be more to Thanksgiving than eating lots of food and getting ready to stand in line for Black Friday shopping in the wee morning hours ...

What about ... a DVD night ???

So, if you don't have plans for Thanksgiving so far come join us at my place for a movie or two. Bring some food to share if you like - we'll have beverages and some snacks available.

Let us thank Stefan and Daniela for hosting a great event on short notice; thanks to all for wonderful snacks, libations, and conversation; and thanks also to our hosts for the selection of a literally uplifting (with an aeroplane) film, "Vitus", and an intelligent thriller, "Cypher".

Sounds great, Stefan, thanks. I will bring some dressing I'm making. (I'm kind of wild for dressing so I may actually make two kinds. Hehe.)

    November 22

    • Jeannie Llewellyn

I'm making dressing, too! Well, if I have any left after lunch at my sister's, I'll bring mine, too. Sweet potato au gratin, sans cheese, too.

  • David

Yeah, and maybe after the uplifting one, we can watch something dark, grisly and depressing. Lololololol. Life's about balance, isn't it?

    November 22

  • Jeannie Llewellyn

Sounds marvelous! Plus I haven't seen it before. A double bonus!
I'll bring whatever leftovers from the family feast I can scrounge. Ha ha!

So, the first movie is going to be "Vitus" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt047...

If we're up for a second one we can decide on the spot. David, you won't be disappointed - Vitus is the embodiment of uplifting :)

I'll bring a few feel good movies I have in my collection. I need something uplifting right now.

  • Virginia

I have “The Men Who Stare at Goats”, which is based upon a true story of the US Army, and is hilarious…. I also have the full series of “Northern Exposure”, “Boston Legal”, and “The Practice”. I could bring the first dvd of any of those… Take your pick….

Since I did not hear any preferences, I will bring Couscous.

    November 21

  • Joanne

It could be serious. But not too much violence, ok? How about Lord of Rings? I am scared about most movies. maybe I should not come.

    November 21

  • Joanne

oh, please guarantee it is a nice movie. Otherwise I cannot come.

    November 21

  • Virginia

Let me think about what food to bring... I am leaning towards Couscous..... Or, I could just bring some Kentucky Fried Chicken.... Let me know. Do you want me to bring a DVD?

    November 21

  • Russ

    November 21

  • Jeannie Llewellyn

May I bring my daughter, if she wants to come along?

    November 21

    • Stefan

How old is your daughter? I can't quite guarantee a PG 13 movie ...

      November 21

    • Jeannie Llewellyn

Actually, she'll most likely NOT come, and will stay at her cousins. It'll just be me.

      November 21

  • Stephen
