Do you remember Playland from the good 'ole days in San Francisco? If so, come and play in a nostalgic setting (albeit in El Cerrito now)! For those who don't, it was an amusement park along the lines of Santa Cruz - and you should still come and play!
Join me for a night of adults only fun at Playland-Not-At-The-Beach. It's part arcade, part carnival, and part museum (lite on the museum, heavy on the fun). They have pinball games galore, both old wooden ones and new electronic ones. There are arcade games where you can win prizes (just for fun folks). And they have board games...yes, board games too! All set up among displays and memorabilia from Playland. It's kind of a quirky place, but definitely worth checking out. And best of all, once you pay the $10 admission price everything is FREE! No quarters needed...the machines are set on free play!
The second and last Thursday of every month are adults only. That means you can shirk your parental responsibility for a few hours. YOU get to be the kid! The venue opens at 6:00 PM if you want to get there earlier for extra fun. I, unfortunately, must be a responsible adult at work in San Jose until at least 5 o'clock so I will not be there to greet any early birds. But have no fear, the staff there is great and they will get you started on the fun!
