San Francisco weekly Pathfinder Society game

Every Wednesday night I host an open gaming night at Yetizen Innovation Lab in downtown San Francisco. I run weekly games of Pathfinder Society (Paizo's organized play for Pathfinder) and would love to see more regular players (and judges). We play from around 6pm until a bit after 10 (though we can stay later if we want to finish the scenario). The space is located near 1st St and Howard so just a few blocks from the Montgomery BART/Muni stop. Parking in the area is tricky (though not impossible if you look for it on nearby side streets) and there are plenty of nearby dinner options.

The game night is an open game night - so if you want to run a regular campaign or get a group of players together for an boardgame or card game that is also welcome.

Sign up for the specific game(s) you want to play at http://warhorn.net/sf-geek-games-night/ (not just here on Meetup).

Thanks to everyone who attended - I hope you all had fun and come back on future Wednesdays to play - either another scenario of PFS or feel free to bring boardgames or come and play other RPGs.

A reminder - please sign up on Warhorn - and note which evening you are registering for - tonight's game is scheduled to be Sewer Dragons of Absalom - though if we have mostly new players I may run a different scenario. But currently I am the only DM scheduled so I can't run two tables... also note that we will be playing next week as well - games to be determined.

Howdy. I've never played PFS games before how friendly is it for new players. I played Living Greyhawk back in the day. I'm new(ish) to the Bay Area and am jonesing to get my game on.

PFS is designed to be highly friendly for new players - it is easy for a new player to stop by and play (there are pregens you can use or you can make a 1st level character - go to http://paizo.com and look at the Pathfinder Society section for the rules for creating PFS characters - and look at the PSRD (Pathfinder Standard Reference Document - basically all of the rules of the game) which is available for free online. If you have played D&D 3.5 Pathfinder is very similar - but there are some key differences to be aware of - so don't hesitate to ask and don't make any assumptions based on 3.5 rulings (i.e. check first) - I'm more than happy to help if you have any questions - hope you can join us on a future Wednesday.

I'm familiar with the differences between Pathfinder and 3.5. I've looked over the PFS players guide, and it seems very similar to LG. If there's room, tomorrow, I'd like to try it out with one of the pre-gens. (I signed up on warhorn)

Thanks for finally announcing this Shannon. Hopefully will garner more players to check out Pathfinder Society, not to mention the great venue provided. Sadly my weekday evenings are closed for gaming. Best of luck and happy holidays!

I host this every week so hopefully there is enough interest from this Meetup group to schedule it regularly - and if you are looking for a place to run a regular campaign the game night is an option for you - the space is nearly 20,000 sq. ft. and owned and run by gamers (It is a coworking space for primarily game - mostly video - companies)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
