The Other SIde of Tilden - Yes, We'll Potluck!

This will be a somewhat aggressive 5-6 miler, and I'll rate it moderate (depending on your condition).

The Plan:

We'll meet at the Inspiration Point Trailhead and head out to check out the scenery on the other side of Wildcat Canyon.  Naturally there will be a vino/snack break, then later we stop on the trail for a potluck lunch, so bring the food and vino w/ you on the hike.

There's a real good chance (like 99.9%) that we'll potluck in a cool eucalyptus grove, so be prepared for nature's beauty and our usual madcap romp in the woods!

What To Bring:

Vino and cups!

Good Hiking Boots/shoes

Layered clothing, hat, sunscreen.

At least 1 liter of water (Fill your bladder/bottles 1/2 way and refrigerate the night before, then top off w/ ice in the a.m. and you'll have chilled water all day.

Vino/snacks for our pre-lunch break during the hike

Food, food, and more food (fish, wraps, cutup sandwiches, meats/cheeses, sourdough/crackers, dried fruit/nuts/seeds, chips, dips, salsa, deserts - be creative!)  If you're Chinese and your name is Linda, then those fabuloso brownies are manditory! - THX LINDA!

Drinks - vino, beer, tea, juice, whatever wets your whistle.

If you've been on any of my hikes you know what to expect. The vino is required to be a part of this hike... OK, not really, but it's always nice when the vino to hiker ratio is high!

$5 activity fee

Your sense of humour is an absolute must!

OK, so we do have some characters in this grp, who like to get crazy w/ snakes.  No big deal, they usually don't find any.  But when they do!

37°54'18.18",  -122°14'40.29"

There are bathrooms at the trailhead, so please arrive early and be ready to hit the trail on time.  Carpooling is encouraged as there is limited parking in this lot.

This hike is posted to several other sites, so it will be a good opportunity to make new friends.

Its not a hike w/out this guy!

Teri, can I suggest you say where you'd like a ride from? I think you're more likely to get a response if you do - like Alex did.
