863 Mission St., San Francisco, CA
This month we socialize while pitting Old World against New World Sangioveses, Barberas, Pinot Grigios and other Italian varietals such as Nebbiolos, Dolcettos and Tocai Friulanos.
We seek to offer an occasion for people to get together over new and different wine styles and flavors. Why nurse a glass of a single varietal at a wine bar when you can enjoy a range of wines among walls of art?
Early Bird price: $15 [refunds given up to 5/16]
Our unique approach is based on the premise that certain special wines have an appeal to a broad range of different palates which rarely please the refined tastes of the wine pros. We want to offer attendees--who represent a cross section of regular wine drinkers who buy wine to have with their dinner--the opportunity to decide on their preferences.
For those who wish, we hold a taste-off among a selection of wines, using a ballot to rate and rank the samples and picking the "Best of Show".
Also present will be several domestic wineries and importers to showcase their own versions of Italian style wines and discuss how they craft such vino.
The wines will be paired with some tasty nibbles, including gourmet rustica pizza with a variety of toppings
We will also raffle or auction off bottles of the featured wines to assist our non profit project PAIRINGS--pairing wine with philanthropy which among other causes has helped raise funds to help encourage young black girls to get excited about technology, support global cooa farmers, protect Bay quality, and aid the Japanese tsunami victims,
The evening also includes an optional guided tour of the Golden Gate Bridge exhibit at the California Historical Society located down the block and starting at 6:00 p.m.
I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
