SF SOMA street party with renowned Flamenco dancer

Arts In Dialogue presents Theatre Flamenco

Join us for the next Yerba Buena Community Benefit District (YBCBD) Arts in Dialogue program, which is holding a Spanish street party underneath the exciting new tech startup complex, backed by the Hearst Corp., called the 5M Project, formerly the SF Chronicle building.

For May they are featuring Theatre Flamenco performing on a pop up stage in the alley that runs between the company headquarters of Square which produces the nifty credit card reader for smartphones , and the HUB, an incubator for tech startups that want to do well by doing good. Expect Square employees and HUB members to attend.

The show will be illuminated by the headlights from Zip car rentals--how cool is that.

Come mix and mingle with other professionals while enjoying Spanish origin wines such as Tempranillo and Albarino. The proceeds from the sale of the wines by PAIRINGS, the fundraising arm of the Bay Area Wine Society Meetup, will support arts programs.

Theatre Flamenco features the incomparable Carola Zertuche, who has spent a lifetime as a force of artistic excellence around the world , and was named the Best Flamenco Show in San Francisco (SF Weekly) and whose work “proudly fierced up rapturous chills…” (San Francisco Bay Guardian). This unique performance will take place in a non-traditional venue and will add to the remarkable and haunting nature of this incredible performer.

Not exactly a warm night, but the camaraderie kept us all warm. I like pairing wines with other events particularly if we can raise some moola for a noble cause; in this instance the arts programs, like last night's Flemenco performance, sponsored by the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District. Hope those who attended enjoyed themselves. Let me know if you hear of other charitable events we can support through donations for the vino. Onwards.

Flamenco dancers were great and really nice dancing and stomping. My first time to attend meetup group and people were nice and the venue is quite interesting but got cold later and not enough time to mingle but were able to meet some folks out there.
Spanish wine taste fine btu really prefer Napa wines.
