Cal Itals Part Deux Happy Hour

So much fun were attendees having last Thursday at the May Mingle that we were unable to collect enough ballots to rate the wines sampled.  So let's try again at Gallery Bar 4N5 which now has its necessary approvals from the City. Come have fun acting as a  "People's Choice" wine judge. I am a strong believer in having consumers, not just the "expert" gatekeepers, determine the appeal of a wine.

Also, the wineries and Gallery Bar 4N5, which is seeking input on creating their wine list, had been told that this taste-off would occur and they would receive the results,  Members and their guests are invited back to our "clubhouse" venue for a happy hour type gathering to complete the judging between 6 and 8 p.m.

We'll break the wines into two blind flights (wines will be wrapped) with each guest assigned one flight.  We will have six additional Cal Itals to add to the list which were not shipped in time for the 31st.

More of the wines can be tasted later in the evening, particularly when we decide on the top wine of the tasting. Hope to see those who attended last time plus other members and non members.

We are requesting a $5 donation if you attended Part I on the 31st, otherwise $10 to help with logistics, rent, clean up and few munchies would be appreciated.  If you paid for the program on the 31st , but couldn't make it, you are welcome to join this repeat program free of charge.

You are also encouraged to  'like' our Facebook page devoted to our fundraising / tasting programs and other examples of ad hoc wine and food gatherings. Go here:  http://www.facebook.com/Pairings.  We'll have some wines to raffle off to support this club cause.

As expected less than half of those who had RSVPd showed up; but I had enough members from the three meetups for a "quorum"--the number necessary to get a true group vote. And we all seemed to have a good time. Thanks to Gallery Bar 4N5, Katherine, and Tom for the assistance with setting up and breaking down. Onwards.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
