The Diablo website says they close at 6pm on weekends--did someone arrange to have it open for the meet-up? Not sure yet if I'm joining, but if so, I haven't yet used my May Touchstone guest pass if a non-member needs one.

Hmm... How did this get updated to completely different thing

Oh i see Sergey. I was reading this from my phone. I suggested an outdoor meetup many many moons ago but didnt choose a venue or date hoping someone would recommend some. IN any event its been lying dormant but it appears Vikram added a venue and date. And I changed it back to what i originally had as original suggester but it look liked it didnt reflect appropriately so Vikram, since your new I advise you create a whole new Diablo Meetup instead of piggybacking on my old, dated one so you can create something new and fresh & draw eastbay climbers to your event. Also adding a date within 24 hours is last minute and doesnt allow the turnout you hope for so maybe create a new meetup a week in advance? MY 2 cents :)

Is this sub-meetup or actual meeting? Haven't climbed outside, I am a newbie who climbed in gym only. Love to see how the climbing the real rock works!

Anyone want to go climbing on Sunday? I am visiting from out of town and don’t know any of the places, but I have my own harness, shoes, and belay device.

    Hey all,
I'm psyched to see people getting together to get more "newbies" into outdoor climbing. I think it's a cool thing about the Meetup. Please remember Meetup organizers aren't guides, aren't professional climbing instructors, and don't have liability insurance. When you go climbing with a Meetup group, you need to make your own decisions about tying in to a rope. It's awesome when people agree to mentor other climbers, but don't confuse that with accepting liability for your safety. They aren't. Meetup organizers and other participants are likely to be looking out for your safety, just like any other recreational climbing partner would, but don't confuse that with someone who is there specifically to manage the risks of climbing. I encourage everyone to learn as much as you can about the safety systems we use. Climb often, ask questions, read books, look online, take classes, hire a guide. There are lots of ways to learn. The more you learn, the more fun you'll have!

Hi Bhaskar, I won't be able to make it this weekend since another climbing opportunity came out. However I'm mostly available for any indoor/outdoor climbing on the weekends. I'll keep a mental note onto the group to find partners. Cheers.

I'd be interested in helping out with this, how many people is "us"?

I was a rock climbing instructor trainer for the past 4 years and I do love teaching this stuff.
