I love the book but there was no way they could reproduce that in a film. The film wasn't as bad as I thought and I quite enjoyed it. Ender, was well cast. Very fast paced movie!

Thanks everybody for coming out to this event! We saw a good film that had very little to do with the actual spirit of the book :) ... as a mainsteam space action movie it works pretty well, the script offers no surprises or originality at all, the effects are gorgeous, the acting is ok - pretty much a standard Hollywood Blockbuster.
I just wish they actually had been able to capture at least a tiny bit of the greatness of the book, but that's probably expecting too much :)

Not a bad movie. Good graphics, a bit too PGish for my liking.

To those who are asking for the RSVP code: I think it has expired, that's why the page asks you for the code again.

Anyway, if you still wanna try again, the code was part of the URL: V2Uhx7z8

Yes, it looks like they closed the Gofobo RSVPs as well

    October 29, 2013

    • Stefan

Hi Stefan - what time are we meeting?

    October 29, 2013

    • Stefan

Martis, (and everybody else on the waitlist), you need to print out the gofobo pass from the link above and get in line early enough since seating is NOT guaranteed. My suggestion given how popular the screening is going to be is to be in line 2 hours before showtime (showtime is 7.30).

What is the recommended time to get to the theater? I understand we have to meet up with Stefan to get the tickets.

    October 28, 2013

    • Stefan

Hey Alex .. I'll send a reminder with times etc. via email in a bit ...

For those who have a confirmed reservation, maybe it would be possible for someone who arrives early to try to hold a space in line.

I was able to get 2 of the non-guaranteed passes. I only need one so I have a second to share. I plan to be in line at the theater by 6. Does anyone who has experience with these type of screenings know if that is early enough to secure a seat?

    October 25, 2013

    • Stefan

Louis .. given the popularity just of this meetup I suggest being in line at least 2 hours before showtime ...

      October 25, 2013

  • Martis

You need to be in line about one hour and fifteen minutes before the movie time.

  • Darryl

Yes, I had experience with these type of screenings , you do have to get there early enought to secure a seat becuase some of these screenings give out more passes than available seats .

    +1
Have read ALL the Ender and Ender's Shadow books, except for the three prequels (third hasn't been published, yet). All are amazing. This flick has a lot to live up to...
