Join Travis County Staff for an interpretive hike at the BCP tract in Jollyville (near the intersection of Boulder Lane and 620). On the way, we will visit a cave which houses cave invertebrates and also walk through Golden Cheeked Warbler and Black Capped Vireo habitat. We will also highlight the native flora and fauna of the area, and hope to hear some birds which winter around Northwest Austin.
The hike is of moderate difficulty, so come with appropriate footwear (hiking boots suggested; no flip-flops) and weather-specific clothing (jeans or cargo pants, coat or rain coat, etc.). Also, be sure to bring sunscreen/hat, insect repellant, drinking water, and any snacks you may need. Hike is restricted to participants 8 years and older.
*Note* We will be walking through some tall grass at points during the hike, so be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
**Note** - Specific directions will be given to hike participants 2 days (Jan. 2) in advance of the hike, since this is an office location.
