There's lots of talk about web standards and why they are beneficial to both user and business needs. We'll be covering what standards are, why they're important, where the web is going with microformats and the semantic web, and illustrate real CSS/XHTML techniques to help you build hack-free sites faster.

In 1994, Cory joined the online world at 2400 baud. Two years later, he built his first website. He first explored CSS during his formative years with the release of Netscape Navigator 4.0. After college, he worked as a web developer/analyst for both large and
small companies and is currently a freelance consultant.
