Apple Pies, Butterflies & Stars in our Eyes...for YOU!!!

Yes, we've got stars in our eyes for YOU!!! This year was a record year for the Rescue Me Walk at Woofstock! We raised close to $10,000 for our rescue beagles! We are beyond grateful to all of you for contributing to our incredible success! As you know, our focus is the rescue of senior beagles, those with chronic health issues, those requiring emergency surgeries, and those suffering from emotional trauma. Most of our beagles come from shelters we work closely with in a combined effort to save the lives of such deserving dogs that are overlooked for adoption by the general public. We typically spend $20,000 or more on veterinary bills each year.

We're excited to announce the arrival of a very special little beagle boy who made his way to us this past Tuesday all the way from a shelter in North Bay! Rutger Howler is not quite 3 years old and suffering from a severe food allergy causing him to itch uncontrollably. His tail and hind legs have been chewed at so badly, his fur is missing and his skin is covered in open sores. But he's with us now and we're determined to get him better! Such a handsome boy deserves to shine! You've made that possible.

Next week, we're going to roll out the red carpet for two good ole' Southern Ontario beagle boys! Vern & Delray are coming to us from a small pound in Innerkip, Ontario! The pair came in as strays, figured to be both around 10 years old, and completely bonded to one another! There was no way we wanted to separate them now, nor did we want them to end their lives in a shelter. Just wait until you meet these boys! They're scrumptious!

So those are just three new reasons why we've got stars in our eyes for you! Come on out and join us at Howling Heights in celebration of YOU!!!

In the case of the "R" word (aka Rain) next Saturday, we'll do a Rain Date for Sunday (July 15th) instead. Soooo, if I wake up at the farm on Saturday morning and it's raining cats & dogs, I'll email the group to switch our party over to Sunday and keep my paws crossed it doesn't rain on Sunday too!

As mentioned above, I'll send directions to our farm in a separate message. For those of you who haven't been to Howling Heights, we're about 1 1/2 hours east of Toronto, between Cobourg and Colborne. If you're familiar with The Big Apple in Colborne off the 401, we're just minutes away from it!

Hope to see many of you for a get together in the country next Saturday!

    This was supposed to be my small way of thanking YOU for the incredible success we had with the Rescue Me Walk at Woofstock this year, but I find myself thanking you here again and for something more personal. It was a beautiful day at our farm, with beautiful people and comical dogs. You've left me with a wonderful memory and you helped heal my heart over the loss of our Bonnie Rabbit. Thank you for everything. Oh, and while I've got you here, sorry I lied in the party apple pies to be had at Betty's but that strawberry rhubarb pie was definitely a hit! Maybe not so much the Bumbleberry though eh? And boy was that ever a Killer Guacomoli, Deanna! Thanks too for whoever brought the other tasty nibblies! Overall, thanks for the great time, guys. I really needed it. Last but not least...Good news - all frogs in pond have been accounted for! None are missing in action! ( ;

    Had a wonderful time. Thanks Marna for opening up your beautiful house to all the members and their beagles.

    Is anyone heading out that way able to help us with a ride? If you think you might have enough room in the car for me and Bim, I'd be happy to chip in for gas.

    Wish I could attend! We have another doggie bed that we'd love a new foster to have!
