Let’s get together for a fun and relaxing afternoon of kayaking in Newburyport.
* No experience necessary, as this will be a guided tour.

Where:
Plum Island Kayak
38R Merrimac Street - Unit 101 B
Newburyport, MA 01950
(978) 462-5510
http://www.plumisland...

* When you RSVP, please indicate that you have “Reserved” your kayak for the group trip.

Arrival Time:
Please arrive at Plum Island Kayak no later than 1:15pm, so that you have time sign in, be fitted for gear, and assigned to a kayak. We also need to allow time for them to transport us to our launch site. Launch site and kayaking route will be determined on that day based on tides, current and wind. We will launch at 2:00 and finish our paddle by 5:00pm.

Weather:
Rain or Shine… so we’ll keep our fingers crossed for a sunny day.

Price:
$55 per person - You'll need to call ASAP to reserve your kayak

* When you call to make your reservation, tell them that you are with the: "the Beantown Meetup Group"

* This is a joint event with the Social Fun Meetup Group. If you belong to both groups, please only RSVP "yes" on 1 of the groups

Dinner afterward:
Please indicate also in your RSVP if you plan to join us for dinner afterward at the Grog, which is walking distance from the municipal lot.

The Grog
13 Middle St
Newburyport, MA

* Plum Island Kayak's Cancellation Policy *
If you decide not to go, there is a 48 hr cancellation policy. You will need to call Plum Island Kayak to cancel your reservation so your card does not get charged.

I spoke with the manager of Plum Island Kayak again to see if anyone else called to make a reservation. The only peole he has on the list for the Beantown group is: Me, John, Margaret, and Jesse. And, 3 people from the Social Fun group. He is going to pair us with another group, so his group will have 15 people. They keep the group size to 15, so they can transport us all to the launch site. I'm decreasing the group size to include only those who have made their reservation. Sorry.

I spoke with the manager of Plum Island Kayak again just now, and he said that he needs a final count of our group size by tomorrow afternoon...... So call to reserve your kayak ASAP if you plan to come. By tomorrow afternoon, if anyone hasn't made their reservation with them, I will downsize the group to the number of people who have made their reservations. Sorry.

If you are bringing your own kayak, you still need to register with them, and reserve your space with our group, because it is a guided tour, and we can only have a certain number of people. I think the cost is $40 or $45 to being your own kayak, and tandem with the group.
