Our Mission: Love Ourselves, Celebrate Our Beauty, Honor Each Other.

We are plus-size people and admirers interested in having fun.  There are many "labels" out there: BBW, zaftig, rubenesque, size friendly, size-acceptance movement, etc... The point is that we focus on fun, laughs, open conversation and living life to the fullest. We do not focus on diets, weight, size, etc. The main goal is to create a fun, supportive community of plus-size and size-friendly people where we can truly be ourselves. Discrimination is out - self-love is in.

We enjoy dining out, movies, dancing, hiking, wine tasting and more, without feeling bad about society's psychotic views on size. Active, spontaneous, young at heart - our community is just starting to "gel." All sizes, ages, gender, race, sexual orientation and relationship status are accepted if you are loving, respectful and non-judgemental.

Three simple rules:
1. $1 per person per event, plus the cost of the event (if any). --The $1 fee is waived until March 2012!

2. Be kind and respectful - No gossiping.
3. RSVPs - please only RSVP yes if you have every reason to believe you'll be there. For meetups I usually need 4 confirmed guests to make it a "go" but we do make exceptions! Please read the note about RSVPs on the "About" page so you understand what we're striving for. NO SHOWS: If you RSVP yes and are a no-show, you still owe the meetup fee.

It's been a year since I took over this group from the original host.  The group membership has grown from a little over 160 members to well over 200 members.  I breathed new life into this group because I welcome new ideas and input from everyone.  I'm still looking for Event Hosts (host an event in your area) and Assistant Organizers to help build this community!  It is my goal to have BABOs all over Northern California.
