Coworking at SoCo Coffee! Bring your laptop and let's get stuff done together :)

We should have a little table sign to "ask a person instead of a computer" for these events. Regardless, a woman, I think the cafe owner or his wife, came to us late in the day and asked about her upside-down desktop display, and Thorn fixed it for her in under two minutes. Nice way to thank the hosts!

Sorry I'll miss you, Josh -- I won't get there until 1-ish myself.

Bummed to miss you, as well! Next time :)
It was very pleasant... certainly a change from my day-to-day.

Had a good time, iced pomegranate green tea and warm web conversation.

Curious to know what co-work meetings are all about. Do you bring jobs you are doing for clients (and/or other projects) and collaborate on things such as improving WP know-how; design ideas; etc.? Or did I miss the mark?I'm not yet sure if I can come this Wed., though I'm trying to make it.
Yes Joan, you've more or less got it. Most of us who go are self employed and just looking for company while we work on client work. Some are looking to collaborate and receive help and feedback on projects. Really it's just an open format for collaboration and camaraderie. You are definitely welcome to join any time!
Joan - For some it is a cure for what sucks about working alone. It's a way for me to have others' productivity infect me in a good way. In addition to checking in, encouragement, and focused collaboration, sometimes someone else's tapping away on their keyboard will get me going on something where before I had been stuck. It gives me a convenient place to reality-check an idea before I put too much effort into it. Rumor has it there are editors and proofreaders who hang out there, as well as coaches, and lots of technical expertise. Plus, WIMPs are the cool kids, and fun to hang out with. Sometimes I have to inspire someone else before I can inspire myself.

Looks like I'll be able to make it after all. Count me in.

Looking forward to more productivity and networking. Also polling people for interest in a West County gathering (Linda McBee's suggestion), ideally on a different day of the week.
