San Antonio Beer Swap #2

Friday Branchline Brewing Co. will open their doors at 6 pm for our Swappers and our latest case swap. Their beer was hit hard during their spectacular one year anniversary but there will be plenty for us. The pints will be $3 (awesome deal) and they will have a keg of their anniversary ale for $7 served in a stemmed glass. They will take both cash or check so be sure to bring a bit with you so you can have a few drinks while organize the case swap. We expect to have 24 Swappers, roughly 40 people counting expected guests. It should be great time for all.

If you are signed up to attend please do not forget to let us know what beer you are bringing.  The latest update of who is bringing what and verified attendees can be found below.

The event will start at 6 p.m. and all participants will need to have their cases turned in to us no later 7:15. We will start redistributing the beer around 7:30 with pickup anytime after 7:45. Last call for the Branchline taps is set for 8:45.  It is our intent to clear out by 9:00 p.m.

Each participant is more than welcome to bring a guest or two to enjoy the fun and beer.  As usual participants will need to bring a case of craft beer (24 beers) and it needs to fall within the range of $35 to $50 so that its fair swap.  The additional Bomber Swap will not be regulated by us and falls on the folks participating to agree and accept trades.

We will have a few door prizes to raffle off  (no purchase necessary) to both participants and their guests.  At this time I do not know what they will be but stay tuned for announcements on that.

Outside beer will not be consumed on the premises.  Your cases must go home with you unopened.  This just means you will have that much more for Super Bowl Sunday.  We will try and have free samples and tastings available but at the very least there will be a great selection of Branchline beers for you to purchase by the pint.

Should the demand for this event be overwhelming we will consider doing 48 (with a group A and Group B) for our next swap in March

We look forward to another amazing time and are excited to be headed to Branchline Brewing Co.

We keep a running list on our facebook page and update it here in the comments when we can https://www.facebook.com/SABeerSwap

The list is meant to ensure we do not get duplicates.  We are aware that it will happen every now and then but we ask that you try your best to avoid them. Please no Coors, Miller, Bud or Pabst.

That sounds yummy, lol. We haven't had it in our previous swap or the current list as far as I can tell so that is an excellent choice Michele.

I don't understand. If this a public place why the limit on people for the group? I'm on the "waiting list".

I understand. Okay, I'm still coming as I was told someone may have cancelled. I'll let you know what I'm bringing as soon as I get to HEB. I'm very new at this and want to see what they have that no one else is bringing. :) Thanks for clearing all that up.

The 1st swap was so much fun. Any talk yet on the format for this one? Same as last time or will we do bombers?

    December 24, 2013

    • Oscar R.

      please do it ryan

      December 25, 2013

    • Ryan

Never done a bomber swap but from forums have seen it done by price ($40-50 which would enable each person to bring 4-6 bombers) or by ounce (120 ounces for example to take into account various sizes like 22 oz or 750 ml bottles). Since it's fewer bottles depending on how many people participate you won't get everything so it makes distribution tricky. Regardless I'd be down with bringing a few bombers to swap formal or informal for something different.

      December 25, 2013

  • Kate

Yes! Can't wait for the next swap! Thanks for organizing again Amber and Rob!

This is the weekend before the super bowl correct? I hope it is because then I can take my selection to my family superbowl party and enjoy with family and friends. Try to educate them. LOL
