1000 Members Hoppy Holidays Brewery Crawl!

http://greenehillfood.coop/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/APRILfireworks1000.jpg

Let's go out and celebrate surpassing 1000 members! It is a huge milestone and worthy of a huge outing. One of my first events was a crawl to eight breweries in one evening. I want to top that with one dozen breweries in the same number of hours. This will allow for the maximum amount of "tasting" which is what this group is all about. Here is the proposed route & schedule:

http://goo.gl/maps/38hnH

Noon - Lucky Labrador Beer Hall - 1945 NW Quimby St

1PM - BridgePort Brewing Co - 1318 NW Northrup St

2PM - Rogue Distillery and Public House - 1339 NW Flanders St

3PM - Deschutes Brewery - 210 NW 11th Ave

4PM - Tugboat Brewing Company - 711 SW Ankeny St

~5PM - Voodoo Doughnuts - 22 SW 3rd Ave

~6PM - Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery - 206 SW Morrison St

7PM - Hair of the Dog Brewing Company - 61 SE Yamhill Ave

8PM - Cascade Brewing Barrel House - 939 SE Belmont St

9PM - Burnside Brewing Company - 701 E Burnside St

10PM - Upright Brewing - 240 N Broadway #2

11PM - Widmer Brothers Gasthaus Pub - 955 N Russell St

11:55PM - Amnesia Brewing - 832 N Beech St

To stay in it for the long haul remember to drink responsibly and if you are staying for the whole crawl that may mean getting the samplers and sharing, as we will need to pace ourselves. And I know from previous experience that I will need to be a diligent timekeeper, so we will be getting our check at 40 minutes in and moving on to the next brewery or pub at 50 minutes on the dot. This will also help those that join part way through the crawl to know where we are. There is a bit of a break for Voodoo Doughnuts and/or dinner that should let any stragglers catch up.  And anyone can text me for a location update at[masked]-9563.

As was said in the description for the last crawl, we will finish at... "the most fitting place to end such an epic trek: Amnesia Brewing at 832 N Beech Street from which you will take a cab or ambulance home. The entire trek will be on foot or MAX: no driving!! You might want to do a little training beforehand (like lots of 12 oz curls) so you're ready for this incredible hop odyssey. If you're new to the Portland brew scene, here's the crash course you've been waiting for!" ...If you're not so new to town, then let this be your next greatest beer challenge and feat in microbrew tasting!

Here is the one I went on way back if anyone is interested in seeing that:

I'm going to stick to the schedule so other than aroynd dinner time we should be easy to find for the most part.

Looks like decent weather for this time of year, but still be sure to bring a warm hat and shoes for walking also. And cash is a great idea to keep the pace going for this nearly half marathon of brews. I have nice new tabletop Meetup signs, and to meet me personally look for the "killer chops".

I'll leave my RSVP as a yes for now, but I have other plans this date.

It's a long crawl so feel free to join us for part of it rather than all if that works.

What is the date for this event?

How about 12/15? (The weekend of the 7-8th is the Vancouver Winter Brewfest), and the weekend after is a little too close to Christmas.

I had considered the 15th, but there is Santacon and also another crawl that a friend of mine is running for Try Vegan PDX. And yes, the weekend after is too late as I won't even be town to host it.

Dec 15th is Santacon at Director's Park. Gettin' my Santa on!
