Neustadt tasting

I've never been to King Rustic; however, they will be hosting a Neustadt tasting on March 21st.  Seems like a good reason to check them out.

Not sure how big is this place, so I am putting a limit on the numbers.

This is all of the information that I have for now; more will be posted once known.

From the King Rustic website:  "Nuestadt Springs dates all the way back to 1997, taking over the oldest brewery building in Ontario. The building was built back in 1859 in the beautiful village of Nuestadt. The building itself hasn’t changed much, other than the infrastructure, that hosts some of the tasty craft around. It took about ten months for Andrew and Val Stimpson to renovate the historic building, but it only took about five hours for the first batch in 82 years to sell out, only good things were to come after that. Neustadt Springs have won countless awards over the years including Canadian Brewery of the year in 2004. The award winning brewery brews only natural ale’s and craft beers using natural spring water.  Neustadt Springs is family owned and operated, which is why they are one of the best to do it."

We appeared to have a great turnout of 15+ people and the Neustadt Staff on hand were very friendly and of course very knowledgeable about the beers offered for sampling. We were offered quite a few beer samples which were quite varied in taste incl. 10w30 Brown Ale, Scottish Pale Ale, Big Dog Beaujolais Porter, 456 Marzen Lager and Texas Tea Honey Stout. The Marzen was possibly my favourite and after the sampling I had a tall can of Crazy Canuck. Great idea for an Event, Steve; I'm glad I came and checked out an interesting venue.

I have another event tomorrow. I may still go for the tasting, but likely before the group gets there. See some of you tonight

I tried a Flying Monkeys raspberry beer you might like called Rubus Acerbi. Such sourness, malt, very dry & very nice. I believe the abv = 6.10% cheers :)
