Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom

Join some fellow Beer Lovers (along with Wine Lovers) for a relaxing, pleasant evening on the lawn at Blossom Music Center. We will gather before the concert to organize ourselves together for a picnic followed by classical music. The featured performance is Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

Here are the program details:

Blossom Festival Chorus

Cleveland Orchestra Children's Chorus

O Fortuna!  Fate awaits you!  Experience one of the most popular masterpieces of the 20th century in Carl Orff ’s compelling tale for chorus, orchestra, and soloists. Infused with spirirted rhythms, catchy melodies, and songs of love, lust, and drink — amidst the recurring change of seasons and the never-ending wheels of fortune and fate.

At a Glance
BACH - Toccata and Fugue in D minor
LISZT - Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2
ORFF - Carmina Burana

The concert begins at 8:00 PM. The first of us will arrive there sometime around 5:30.  By all means, arrive when convenient or practical.  However, those who are there by 7:00 will have time to mingle and socialize.  We will roll out a big blanket and set up some picnic gear. You can find us on the center-left flank. The right flank is nearest to the parking lot, so it fills up quickly and gets over-congested.  After entering, head left from the entrance plaza, and take the paved path atop the hill.  Follow along until you reach the left flank.  When you see us, walk straight down.  We will have balloons to aid in your locating us.

Admission at the gate is $20 per person.  Guests are encouraged to bring appetizers, snacks, and desserts to share. Of course, bring along any libations in coolers. We will need a few more blankets, and anyone may bring folding chairs if they wish.

If you've never done this before, you don't know what you're missing. Check out this Plain Dealer article:

I'm going to try and make it, after I get back from a trail ride in Holmes county. I'd love to hear O Fortuna live.

As far as beverages go, Mikey will bring some craft beer, pop, & water. Wine is the most fun thing to sip there. Gonna focus on varietals, not blends. This night will feature wines from Spain. Mikey plans on bringing: Grenache, Monastrell, Gewürztraminer, & Cava.

Hi Jessica. Feel free to bring what you like. Sharing is encouraged, and adds to the camaraderie. Both homemade & store-bought goodies are fine. In the past, there has been so much good stuff, that it was hard to decide where to start, & what to save room for! We're certain that you guys will have a great first event.

Mikey will bring a pasta salad. It's quite large & elaborate, so it will yield many servings. Also will bring crackers, along with port wine cheese spread.
