Blue Pine Kitchen and Bar has opened in the former Players Bar & Grill on Bend's west side. The self-described “gastropub" is the endeavor of Chef Matt Neltner, formerly of the Deschutes Brewery and Kokanee Café; his wife, Jill Moore Neltner; and Josh Maquet, who is also the owner of the Astro Lounge in downtown Bend.

The menu looks amazing. With options ranging from frog's legs to heirloom popcorn, dungeness crab risotto to buffalo schnitzel; it's hard to find anything run of the mill! Great nightly cocktail deals and a very friendly and knowledgable staff ensures patrons will return. There's no Happy hour here, but happy drink specials all-day-long. Sides and snacks range from $2.50 t0 $13, Small plates range from $8 to $16, Large plates $18 to $28.
